Christine Cortina has worked as a freelance graphic designer for over 20 years and has had the pleasure of working on projects ranging from non-profit organizations to multi-million dollar companies. As a senior designer at award-winning Clare Ultimo Inc., located in New York City, the studio was among the first wave of New York based design studios to bring ecologically and socially responsible design to corporate clients by the early 1990s. Ultimo Inc. were members of Businesses for Social Responsibility and Coop America when they were small startup organizations.
Cortina has designed numerous public art projects around Southern California including Garfield High School, Westchester/Loyola Village Public Library, and the DTLA Garmet District.
Along with her freelance work, Cortina has been a graphic design instructor for the past 11 years, teaching at California State University Los Angeles, Loyola Marymount University, Santa Monica City College, and El Camino College.
